Place looks nice inside & out /colorful seating/cool vibe/that feels authentic. A decent line at the front door. Order at the register, then take a seat. The workers are patient & friendly. Someone brings you your food-you can order more from the table. We sat outside-nice warm fires blazing. Menu-mostly sandwich types, appetizers and sides. Arepa, plantain & cheese sandwiches, empanada. The entree’ meals felt like the same items in the sandwiches, deconstructed. Strong quality plates & forks, great presentation, fresh smell & taste, Chef inspired menu/great restaurant concept-excited to eat! Soursop juice- taste good, I know they’re not squeezing a fresh soursop fruit, (pulp comes in bag) Arepa shrimp sandwich-the best flavor of the 4 items. Perfectly fried/seasoned shrimp. Arepa fried chicken breast sandwich-wish the chicken had the same crispiness & taste as the shrimp. Just wasn’t special as I had expected. Arepa chicken salad sandwich-least favorite. It wasn’t your mother‘s chicken salad (shredded chicken & mayo)but not traditional. It was fresh, I ate it all. Try adding diced onion, lil sweet relish or pickles. Plantain beef sandwich- great idea to flatten the plantain like bread. I prefer the plantain as bread instead of Arepa flour bread. The sauce helped the taste as the plantains aren’t rich in flavor. Good toppings really help this sandwich. Americans love sandwiches or bread & meat, which is a sandwich deconstructed. Venezuelan cuisine designed for Western Society. The whole menu could be lunch. Seems like people finish their meal here, you can take leftovers to go/order to-go. I had to deconstruct the sandwich in order to rewarm. We were full. Arepas are $15 each; we tried two each, a couple sides with drink could put you around $50 per person. You could be under $30.

Arepa Mia is one of Atlanta’s best spots for authentic Venezuelan flavors with a modern, welcoming vibe. The arepas are perfectly grilled with flavorful fillings that strike a great balance between traditional and creative. My son, who is gluten- and dairy-free can always easily find something! The owner often delivers food to your table and has the warmth of a comforting uncle, which makes the experience feel personal. Service is friendly, though the wait for food can be a bit long, and parking is sometimes a challenge. The atmosphere is casual but lively, and the patio is especially a treat in the spring and fall. Avondale Estates is growing, and I hope Arepa Mia sticks around for the long haul. It’s worth a visit every time you’re in the area OR even a ride across town.

Wow wow wow!!! We were absolutely blown away by this authentic Venezuelan cuisine. Truly a gem here in the greater Atlanta area. We are so excited to have found this restaurant and can’t wait to visit again soon. It is no surprise that they’ve been recognized by Michelin as a Bib Gourmand for the last 3 years. It deserves every bit of recognition it’s gotten and more.

Went for the first time after thrift shopping at Second Life because I could smell it from across the street and I’m so glad I did. The staff was so kind and the food was amazing. Definitely get the side of beans and rice and was got the beef arepa and it was delicious. We will be back.

Everything was amazing! Felt like I stepped out of Atlanta for a second and the food was amazing! I got the grilled red snapper arepa, grilled salmon arepa, and the grilled tilapia arepa. My favorite was the grilled red snapper then tilapia but it was all fresh and tasted AMAZING!
