I was on the hunt for great Latin food nearby that wouldn’t require a trip into the city, and I’m so glad I discovered this hidden gem. La Cocinita absolutely exceeded my expectations! From the moment we ordered, everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The arepas were the star of the meal perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, and incredibly filling. Each bite was packed with bold, authentic flavors that left me wanting more. We also tried their empanadas, and they were just as impressive. They were golden, crispy, and generously stuffed with delicious fillings that tasted homemade. You can really tell they take pride in their food. I’m already planning my next visit because I can’t wait to try the tacos and bowls on their menu. If they’re anything like the arepas and empanadas, I know they’ll be amazing. La Cocinita is easily a 10/10 for me. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Venezuelan food without the drive into the city!

So I had a quick bite to eat here and what the locals say about the Arepas was factual, the best I’ve ever had, served hot & fresh. The aroma alone, when I entered the restaurant, made me want one of everything on the menu! If that doesn’t sell you on this place, let me tell you, the kitchen is open and very visible, when I tell you the work and prep stations were clean and orderly. I mean spotless. This team impressed me so much. Ordering was a breeze, the have a QR Code on each table. Just scan the code, place your order, and pay all within their web browser and your meal is delivered to your table right from the kitchen, seamlessly. Customized orders are easy too. I had a margarita on the rocks which was pretty good too. McTwindom highly recommends LaCocinita Restaurant in Evanston, IL. I will be back again!

This restaurant is a MUST GO TO type of experience! This was my 1st time trying Venezuelan food, and it did not disappoint. Our family loved it. The chips and salsa were fresh with great taste. I tried an Arepa for my 1st time and really liked it. What an adventurous item to try. Very unique. We had pulled pork tacos, chicken tacos, & tofu bowl which were all amazing! They accommodate Gluten and Dairy allergies very well. The margaritas were very tasty! The star of our wonderful experience was "Anny". Her service was superior and what a great personality she has. Very funny! She was very serious and well aware of our allergy issues, and knew exactly what to do. Thank you Anny! We will definitely be returning customers.

¡Madre de Dios! An unbelievable experience. Everything about the meal was aces. Cool vibe inside. A perfect menu -- the right number of dishes. Prices were more than reasonable. Food was fresh and delicious. Every single bite was warmth and joy. The Venezuelan Flan (not pictured, because I couldn't stop myself from eating it) was fireworks. I am so happy. Thank you! 🎆 🇻🇪 🎇

The best Arepa I've had in Evanston, and better than any one I've had in Chicago. We will definitely be back. So flavorful and affordable, I almost want to gatekeep this spot. Las mejores arepas de Chicago.
