I had the pleasure of experiencing Sabor a Mi Venezuela during their recent participation at the Colombian Embassy event on November 6, and I was deeply impressed by their warmth, professionalism, and culinary excellence. It’s unfortunate that a recent review mischaracterized the spirit of the event and the intentions of the team. As someone who values cultural exchange and mutual respect, I saw nothing but genuine enthusiasm and pride from the Sabor a Mi Venezuela staff. They showcased traditional Venezuelan dishes with care and invited guests to learn about their roots—not to compete, but to connect. Let’s be clear: food is a powerful expression of identity, and Latin American cuisines often share ingredients, techniques, and stories. That’s not plagiarism—it’s heritage. It’s migration, adaptation, and love passed down through generations. To pit one culture against another misses the point entirely. The team was courteous, collaborative, and grateful to be included. If there were any misunderstandings, they certainly don’t reflect the heart of this business or the values they bring to every event. I saw smiles, shared recipes, and guests enjoying arepas, tequeños, and more—together. Sabor a Mi Venezuela deserves recognition not only for their delicious food, but for their commitment to cultural celebration. Sabor a mi Venezuela’s arepas are a true celebration of comfort food done right. From the very first bite, it’s clear the care and tradition that go into every detail.
