During a trip from Ohio to New York, I passed by a restaurant near Times Square that really caught my eye. It reminded me of the food stalls in Venezuela, and when I tried their dishes, I noticed a strong similarity to the flavors I missed so much. The experience was very nostalgic, and I definitely recommend it. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious.

Pretty cool spot next to a park. It’s very small but there’s some seating area right in front of it and just a few steps away, you can sit down in the park and enjoy your food. I was just thirsty, so I ordered the chicha. Chicha is a specialty Latin American drink made with milk, rice, cinnamon, and possibly condensed milk/caramel? It is a bit like drinking rice pudding. The lady there when I first came was speaking on the phone for quite a while, and continued talking as she was taking my order. She also didn’t really speak English but we did our best to communicate until her daughter got there. The drink itself is pretty good. It seemed quite expensive at first ($8 or so) but the portion is amazing and the drink is very rich, so you don’t need much of it. It is super sweet and super dense with some globs in it, but maybe that’s the way it should be. It seemed they had some of it premade already. So, this is a nice spot, but not my favorite ever.
