If you’re anywhere near Midtown, Costas Latin Street Food is an absolute must-visit. The moment you walk up, you can smell the flavor in the air—fresh, authentic, and made with real love. The food here is everything NYC street food should be: bold, vibrant, and unforgettable. I tried several dishes, and every single bite was packed with seasoning and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, the ingredients taste incredibly fresh, and the flavors truly represent the best of Latin street cuisine. Whether you’re craving tender, well-seasoned meats, perfectly cooked rice and beans, or fresh-off-the-grill goodness, Costas does not disappoint. The staff is warm, welcoming, and fast—even during the busy lunch rush. You can tell they take pride in their food and their service. Prices are great for Midtown, and the quality is honestly better than many sit-down restaurants in the area. Costas Latin Street Food is the type of place you try once and immediately start recommending to everyone you know. If you want real flavor, big portions, great service, and a true taste of Latin street cuisine—run, don’t walk. This spot on West 35th Street is the real deal!

Can’t get enough of the Sancocho soup. Steak Arepas also delicious. Grab and go pickup window. Always better to order ahead.

Ordered take out and it was ready, but still hot after my walk there. Had the El Ché and La Flaca arepas, cilantro rice and beans, and a sweet plantain with queso. The arepas had a really interesting and tasty combination of fillings, but were a bit dry. I think they’d benefit from an extra side of sauce. The rice and beans were on the bland side, I think they’d be fine with a squeeze of lime, sprinkle of queso fresco and sour cream. The plantain with queso was wonderful - you really can’t go wrong with those. I got all that food for about $22 which I think is super reasonable as it was very filling and I had some leftovers. I’d definitely go here again, but I’d probably get some extra sauces on the side and add sour cream and queso fresco too - that would make a huge difference for me!
